The E-BOX goes digital

Display for intuitive operation
Today, it’s impossible to imagine everyday life without a smartphone. The wide range of applications and the benefits of digital technology are simply too vast. In motorhomes, however, analogue technology is still predominate, and the vehicle’s electrical system is controlled via simple analogue control panels. The fill level is indicated by individual LEDs in 25 per cent increments. There are no clear text messages, for example when the freshwater tank is running low, let alone the option to control the heating via the same display.
However, a new trend is emerging in the market. And so, E-T-A's E-BOX , the world’s first all-in-one power distribution unit with charging and booster functions, is going digital. The advantages are obvious: Third-party systems such as the heating, air conditioning, batteries, fridge and the like can conveniently be controlled and monitored via one display.
Users receive clear text messages for conditions that require attention or action. If, for example, the freshwater tank runs low, text messages will explain how to top it up. Another text message is sent for example, if the freshwater pump has been deactivated because the wastewater tank is full. This proves to be a particular advantage for occasional campers or those new to camping. The system helps with operating and using the motorhome, allowing you to enjoy your well-deserved holiday to the fullest. Furthermore, the display enhances the vehicle’s intrinsic value, As the display language can be changed, and the interface is generally more intuitive.
As operation and design – referred to in the field as User Experience and User Interface (UX/UI) – play a central role, E-T-A has appointed a specialist specifically for this area. This specialist is specifically dedicated to the design and further development of the user interface. E-T-A will be testing the result in the field with select customers over the coming weeks, where we will focus on intuitive operation and practicality.
